So this is what Mike Wallace's asking price is...The 49ers inquired about Mike Wallace but ...

49ers Blog and Q&A: The 49ers inquired about Mike Wallace but ...

Let me be clear I knew it was high. I promise I did. I can also see why folks would be shying away from it. I mean, I'm not mad at Mike either. GET YOUR MONEY FAM. It's business. I also know that the Steelers probably won't pay him that much. At least I don't think so. I could be wrong and I know there are TONS OF YOU WHO HOPE I AM WRONG.

Again...I understand it. He should have been drafted higher and this is his way of making up that 'stagger'. No problem. He can command it. Or can he? @ the teams that passed on this alleged price tag. I wonder how 'off' this number is as well? 'Cause it can't be THAT FAR OFF. I know he wants over a 100 millie for the duration of his contract so my question is just how far off is this number...Anyway..read the article. Here is a piece..

How much? A league source said that Wallace, 25, wants a contract that surpasses the eight-year, $120 million deal that Larry Fitzgerald signed last year with the Cardinals. Combine that with the first-round pick any team that signs Wallace to an offer sheet would lose if the Steelers didn't match the offer, and you start to understand why we've heard so little about Wallace in the last week and a half.
That, of course, could change. Teams have another month to sign restricted free agents. But at that price, the 49ers aren't interested, and it's hard to imagine the Patriots, Bengals and Ravens paying that either.
Wallace ranked 11th in receiving yards last season with 1,193 yards, and he scored eight touchdowns. Fitzgerald ranked fourth with 1,411 yards and eight touchdowns. The Steelers placed a first-round tender worth $2.74 million on Wallace. If Wallace signs it, he'll become an unrestricted free agent next season and all 32 teams will be able to bid on him without the fear of losing a draft pick.

Steelers close to re-signing Max Starks

Steelers close to re-signing Max Starks
Tuesday, October 04, 2011
The Steelers visited with former offensive tackle Max Starks tonight and are close to re-signing him to help their injury-plagued offensive line.
Starks, who was released before the start of training camp, was at the team's South Side facility tonight and will likely be signed to the 53-man roster, a team source told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
The Steelers will have to release a player to make room for Starks, who had been a full-time starter since the middle of the 2009 season.
Starks missed the second half of last season with a neck injury that kept him from working out during the offseason. That caused him to be overweight and out of shape and forced the Steelers to release him.

Football. Is. Back. For. Real. Games that COUNT. First up.for the Steelers? The Ravens.

The Hair is healthy. When he is healthy...yeah...

I know folks are talking about his back....If he can walk, he will play. Well.

Both guys in the picture will hopefully get their share of the rock.

This WHOLE UNIT. We need 'em to play well. Period. Hopefully they set the tone.
Very ready to see the Steelers play the Ravens. I know that for some, this game is a BIG deal. This game is one game though. If we win it, we don't get an automatic bid to the playoffs and if we lose it, we aren't out. One game at a time. This is the first one.

Mike Wallace. I imagine him and Jimmy will be locked up with each other. @ the Ravens rookie

This makes it sound like Mike Vick wasn't 'ALLOWED' to go to Cincy or Buffalo...@ this upcoming GQ article......

Michael Vick on not originally wanting to come to Philly:
"I think I can say this now, because it's not going to hurt anybody's feelings, and it's the truth... I didn't want to come to Philadelphia. Being the third-team quarterback is nothing to smile about. Cincinnati and Buffalo were better options."
Those two teams wanted him and would've allowed him to start, but after meeting with commissioner Roger Goodell and other reps from the NFL, Vick was convinced-and granted league approval-to sign with Philly. "And I commend and thank them, because they put me in the right situation."

Should be a good read tomorrow...

Oh and we aren't surprised are we? -_- @ GODdell

Top 5 Linebackers in 'Madden NFL 12' - ESPN

Top 5 Linebackers in 'Madden NFL 12' - ESPN

You see who is #1 right? (smiles) If you DON'T get why I would care, look up to the left at the top of the blog...Self explanatory...

Madden NFL 12EA SportsJames Harrison is looking to bring the pain in "Madden NFL 12."
All this week, ESPN's Gamer Blog and SportsNation are teaming up to bring you the Top 5 rated players at key positions in "Madden NFL 12." And while yesterday's list of Top 5 quarterbacks sparked some serious debate from Michael Vick and Big Ben fans who felt their favorite players had been wrongly left off the list, I'm sure Bears fans will be just as passionate when asking why Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs fell just short of making the "Madden" cut today (especially when there are six players on the list due to a tie for fifth place). Do they have a case? Let the debate begin.
James Harrison: 98
James Harrison is here to hurt you. That's all you need to know about his "Madden" character as the Steelers bad boy boasts 97 toughness, 95 hit power, 98 power moves, 99 awareness, 97 block shedding, and 95 player pursuit. Add to the fact that the game features concussions that will knock players out of the lineup, and playing as Harrison is like a virtual fine waiting to happen.
Madden NFL 12EA SportsDeMarcus Ware has been an elite "Madden" character for years.
DeMarcus Ware: 98
DeMarcus Ware has been one of the most popular (if not the single most popular) defensive player in "Madden" for the past few years. The reason? Ware not only has the size and strength to make his presence felt, but in tournament play, he has the ability to sack quarterbacks like no other. "Madden 12" is no different as Ware checks in with 86 speed, 97 acceleration, 90 strength, 88 agility, 99 power moves, 97 finesse moves, 99 pursuit, and 88 hit power.
Madden NFL 12EA SportsPatrick Willis just wants to hit you as hard as possible.
Patrick Willis: 98
Patrick Willis knows what it's like to obliterate opponents on the field for real, and when he plays "Madden," he likes his video game football just as violent. "I'm not the type of guy just to push square and go for a regular tackle," Willis told me last year during an interview. "I always like to be on top coming down with that Hit Stick and see what happens." Pain, that's what happens, especially when Willis is running at you with 90 speed, 96 acceleration, 98 tackle, 99 stamina, 94 toughness, 98 pursuit, and 94 hit power.
Madden NFL 12EA SportsJon Beason is one of the best tacklers in the game.
Jon Beason: 97
With 97 tackle, 99 pursuit, 99 play recognition, and 92 hit power, Jon Beason is about as close to an automatic tackle as there is in the game. But with only 75 strength, is "Madden" suggesting Beason spend more time in the gym?
Madden NFL 12EA SportsClay Matthews and his 98 power moves are ready to make a play.
Clay Matthews: 95
Clay Matthews is a beast for the Packers in the game, dominating the virtual field with scores of 86 speed, 94 acceleration, 98 power moves, 97 pursuit, and 88 hit power. If only he could get a 99 for hair.
Madden NFL 12EA SportsEven after all these years, Ray Lewis can still Hit Stick with the best of them.
Ray Lewis: 95
When Ray Lewis was on the cover of "Madden NFL 2005" (arguably the best "Madden" to date), he helped forever change the game for the better as producers introduced the Hit Stick in honor of Lewis. Seven games later and Lewis is still one of the top dogs thanks to 99 toughness, 97 player pursuit, 99 play recognition, and 98 hit power. Who would've thought, all these years later and Lewis is still king of the Hit Stick.
