Men of the Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State police command, have arrested six suspected car robbers including a father, Eyo Okon (70) and his son, Benje Okon (31), who have been terrorising car owners in the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Tambaro Muhammed, while addressing newsmen in Ibadan on Tuesday, said the gang were arrested after snatching a Toyota Camry car in Ogbomoso at gun point.
Olufamous.com gathered that Benje Okon and other suspects were traced to Trend Hotel in the Arulogun area of the city, where they were trying to disconnect the tracking device in the car. They took to their heels on sighting the police, but were given a hot a chase and arrested. According to the police commissioner, Benje Okon's father, Eyo Okon, stormed the Moniya police station dressed in an Assistant Superintendent of Police uniform to “rescue” his son who was in detention.
He was said to have introduced himself at the police station as the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) of Lekki Beach police division in Lagos. The police commissioner added that in the course of interrogation, his men discovered that the 70-year-old man is neither a member of the Nigeria Police Force nor a DCO at Lekki Beach.
Olufamous.com learnt that Eyo Okon was immediately arrested as part of his son's gang and, according to the police boss, he will be charged to court with Benje Okon and others. Among them were three women, Bada Abosede, Bose Dada (27), Funmilayo Dauda (48) and Moses Samuel (39), who worked with the father and son in their operations.
