This week's issue of Time magazine features a mom breastfeeding her three-year-old son. Not only is the image turning heads, it has many questioning their parenting.

The image coincides with the cover story about the "attachment parenting" movement that calls for extended breastfeeding, co-sleeping and baby-wearing. Jamie Lynne Grumet, the woman on the cover, believes in the movement. Photographer Martin Schoeller shot her and three other mothers, and to get the point across he made the setting as extreme as possible. Most mothers stop breastfeeding their children before they reach a year and they turn out just fine, therefore this method has many raising eyebrows.

“I liked the idea of having the kids standing up to underline the point that this was an uncommon situation, he explained.

Should breastfeeding have an age limit? Would you breastfeed your child until they were old enough to feed themselves?
