Assaulted Beat FM staff sacked for stealing Jollof rice

Adewunm
Sources say the management was prompted to sack Adewunmi after he had another misunderstanding with a Naija FM staff  - this time over an item which was missing in the office. Adewunmi was accused of stealing another staff’s meal – a pack of Jollof rice.

Sources say, Adewunmi denied the accusation but a  CCTV camera which recorded the whole incident proved him wrong.

Insiders at the Beat insist Oyekanmi was not victimised, but only unfortunate to have been the one caught. ‘Management had been trying to stop the issue of stealing. That’s part of the reason they installed CCTV everywhere, and encouraged all staff to report cases of missing items, so these can be tracked using the CCTV recordings. It’s just unfortunate that he’s the one that was caught. If it had been anyone else, the same fate would have befallen that person’
We could not immediately reach Oyekanmi.
NET placed a phone call to the General Manger at BEAT FM Deji Awokoya who told us he would get in touch even before we could ask him any questions on the matter. ‘I’m in a meeting, I’ll call you later please, thanks’, Awokoya said over the phone.
On Thursday, September 8, 2011, Olisa who is the Director of Programmes at Naija FM, Beat FM and Classic FM had assaulted and severely injured Adewunmi, a member of staff at the Lagos radio station.

Two Abuja Girls Caught In The Act In Public

Considering the anti gay act passed into law by the National Assembly, one would think homosexuality should be a thing of the past. However, the punishment of fourteen years jail term passed by the National Assembly to deter our youths from engaging in homosexual activities seems to be of no effect as young girls now practice the act in the open in Abuja, where the law was passed, with impunity.
What in the past used to be an indoor thing has now been brought into the open as young ladies now fully practice the act in the full glare of the public, especially at clubs, restaurants and relaxation centers scattered around the Federal Capital Territory in the evenings.
It gets worse when these girls are drunk as they could do anything just to certify their crazy feelings, not minding where they are.

Pastor Caught Trying To Use His Mother For Money Rituals

This is where the woman's throat was slashed.
Residents of Agboku, a community in the Ado-Odo area of Ogun State were thrown into confusion on Thursday, 13th April, when news filtered out about the kidnap of a 70- year-old-woman, madam Aduke Karimu Sawo. The kidnappers were said to be money rituals. But what alarmed people of the area was when it became clear that they were sent by Pastor Rafiu Sawo, the biological son of the woman.

Born a Muslim 35 years ago, Rafiu Sawo is now a Christian and the founder of Celestial Church of Christ [Oke Itura Parish], Owode, Ogun state, which he shepherds. The old woman was reportedly kidnapped and taken away on a chartered motorcycle to a thick forest, near Ayede village where her throat was slashed with knife.
Taken for dead, she was then covered with raffia leaves and dumped by the bush path. Her assailants thereafter took leave of 'the corpse' to put a call across to Pastor Rafiu to come over and sever the head as required for the money ritual .Unknown to them, Madam Aduke was still alive and she escaped to safely before they came for her.

Recounting her ordeals and narrow escape, she told our reporter in a private clinic at Ado Odo, where she is still recuperating, that it was God that saved her. Telling her strange-but-true story, she said: "My name is Aduke, my husband's name is Sawo, now late. I am about seventy years old. I have five children, namely, Wahab, Silifat, Iyabode, Rashidat, and the one in question now is Rafiu.

“Since my husband passed on, I have been charged with the responsibility of sending them to school and looking after their welfare. I suffered untold hardships and did all kinds of odd jobs to take care of myself and the children before old age started catching up with me.”

Madam Aduke, who looked frail on the hospital stretcher stated further that, "sometimes I fetched water from the Ado-Odo streams to houses for a token in order to make ends meet. Also, I sold different herbs cut in the bush.

“My other children are contend with this simple life and they assist me in my old age. Rafiu, who is the fourth in the family has always been the black sheep among them all. Like the prodigal son, Rafiu ran away to Ajangbadi, in the outskirts of Lagos where he stayed for close to three years, in the company of some friends of questionable character. I warned him to avoid the company of all bad friends to no avail.”

As at the time of posting, Olufamous.com could not confirm if men of the Nigeria Police have succeeded in arresting Pastor Rafiu and his accomplices.

I Slept With My Daughter But I Did not Get Her Pregnant – Mr. Peter Okeke

Peter Okeke
Describe it with whatever adjective; incest, abomination, absurdity, one thing is clear: for a father to conceive in whatever guise, strip his daughter naked and sleep with her, the same daughter who is a product of his semen is nothing short of insanity. In fact, this man (points at Mr. Okeke) is a goat.
I think if there is anywhere worse than hell, not the Nigerian prisons, that is where this man deserves to go,” remarked an angry woman police Sergeant. Staring into space as if lost in thought while betraying emotions, Mr. Peter Okeke, a 60 year old Imo state born security guard portrayed a vivid picture of the biblical defenceless lamb led to the slaughter; as policemen, women and even visitors to the command rained curses on him for his abominable deed which on the long run claimed the life of his eighteen year old daughter,  Adaobi.
All he could do at the commencement of this interview was beg for forgiveness. “I want everybody, even government to forgive me. I know what I have done is bad, but to err is human and to forgive, divine. She was my daughter and I loved her until her death. I did not know what came over me the first day I slept with her. I think it was alcohol,” he lamented. Investigation revealed that Mr. Okeke the father of six, first had canal knowledge of his daughter when she was 13 and had been sleeping with her until late last year when the girl became pregnant.
However, in between time, Adaobi was said to have picked a boy friend simply identified as Lucky and both of them were constantly seen together at Oha village, a suburb along Sapele road Benin city, the Edo state capital. The lid was, however, blown open after Adaobi announced to her lover-boy that she was heavy with a baby for him. This did not go down well with Lucky who was said to have recalled to his girl friend that they never had it bare (without condom) together; not even once since they started dating.
To satisfy all righteousness, a blood test was conducted. And the result vindicated Mr. Lucky and of course, left Adaobi with no other alternative than to confess the reality to her mother It was, therefore, obvious that Mr Peter Okeke was (most likely) responsible for Adaobi’s pregnancy. The abominable act was reported at his home town and Mr. Okeke was invited to cleans the land but refused to appear before the elders of his community. Nine months later, Adoabi delivered a bouncing baby boy but died of jaundice shortly afterwards. Again, Mr. Okeke compounded his sin by secretly burying the baby all alone without consulting his kinsmen. Months after, Adaobi also fell ill and died.
But an attempt to have her secretly buried without informing anybody, not even neighbours led to the invitation of detectives from the Homicide department of the Edo state command. Giving an insight to how he committed the act, a sober looking Okeke said, “Look at me, do I look like a criminal? The girl in question was my daughter and I loved her until her death.
I wanted her to go to school but she opted for hair-dressing. I am ashamed of what happened. “Yes, I agreed I slept with her when she was 13 and that was because their mother abandoned me. But I can swear by any thing that I was not responsible for her pregnancy. Until her death, she had a boy friend simply called Lucky, that boy is responsible for her pregnancy. When she told me that she was pregnant I asked who was responsible and she confessed to me that it was the same Lucky.
”But since then, Lucky stopped seeing her. Even when she put to bed, I invited him but he refused to show up. I did the same when she died. It was like I was in a world of my own. When the matter of my affair with her was reported in my village, I could not go because I did not have enough money to travel. “I slept with her when she was 13 and even that period I did not find it difficult penetrating her which means she had been doing it. On that day, I took three bottles of beer and two shots of local gin called Ogogoro.
So when I came in, I just removed my clothes and started f**king her. Adaobi was one of my six children until her death. I think the police is angry because I wanted to secretly bury her not because I slept with her. All I am pleading for is forgiveness; I am sorry.” What the law says: The offence of incest has no clear cut definition in the Nigerian laws but falls under offences against morality in the Criminal Code Act Cap 77, Laws of the federation of Nigeria 1990. Section 214 of the criminal coded defines offences against morality as: (a)
Any person who has canal knowledge of any person against the order of nation, or (b) has canal knowledge of animal, or (c) permits a male person to have canal knowledge of him or her against the order of nature; is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years. The term “against order of nature” therefore, refers to either a father having sex with his daughter, a mother having sex with her son, a sister having sex with her brother, etc etc provided this is done to the extent of incongruity to the order of nature.

                                           rapist

A Lagos court judge has ordered that a man who admitted that he was a rapist should be taken to a psychiatric hospital Yaba, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, for doctors to check his sanity.
The 27-year old man, Emmanuel Omayebu stunned a Lagos court when he proudly and openly admitted before the court that he actually raped his neighbour’s 10-year old daughter to satisfy his sexual desire as alleged by the police.

Lebanese murders Bureau de Change Operator over $50,000 in Lagos

The Lebanese killer                      The victim being rolled into the theatre after the incident
Culled from Vanguard
35-year-old Ali Sani, a bureau de change operator in Apapa area of Lagos, least envisaged the tragedy that loomed ahead,  penultimate Monday,  as he set for his office. Like every other bureau de change operator, Ali called on passers-by to patronise him, in his hard currency  changing business.
Later that day, a telephone call, which signaled the beginning of the end of  Ali, came in with  the caller requesting for fifty thousand dollars. The call, according to his colleagues, came as an answered prayer for the  Kano State born operator  who, reportedly, rallied round to make up the amount. But, unknown to him, the caller had a sinister motive.

This was  confirmed as report was received later by Ali’s  colleagues that he was lying in a  pool of his own  blood inside a hotel on  Marine Road, Apapa. Sadly, as you read this piece, the remains of the bureau de change operator, who hailed from Rimi town  in Sumalia local government area of Kano State, are lying six feet beneath the earth.

How he met his death
The caller, a 25-year-old  Lebanese, identified as  Bilal, as gathered, invited Ali to the hotel. Immediately he stepped inside the hotel room , the Lebanese allegedly requested for the dollars which the deceased  gave to him. But instead of giving the bureau de change operator  the naira equivalent,  four men were said to have emerged from  the toilet.

Before he  could fathom what was wrong, one of the men  landed a stick on  his head, causing him to fall.
In that state, the kingpin, Bilal, reportedly brought out a knife from his pocket and stabbed Ali in the neck, head, eyes and shoulder. Apprehension  set in after Bilal rushed out of the hotel room with blood stained shirt, attempting  to leave the hotel. But he was prevented by security  guards. A mild drama unfolded as the Lebanese reportedly brought out a knife threatening to stab whoever tried to block his way.

But for  the timely arrival of policemen from Apapa Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Mr  Mohammed Mu’azu, the Lebanese would have made good his threat or escaped. He was arrested alongside two Nigerians simply identified as Segun and Benjamin.

During investigation, Bilal told policemen that his other  two partners in crime had escaped. It was discovered that the fleeing suspects, both Lebanese , are father and son. A friend to the deceased bureau de change operator, one  Muhammed Lawal, revealed to Sunday Vanguard that he disecretly followed Ali to  the hotel that fateful day.

He narrated,  “ When the  Lebanese informed  him  that he would send his  driver  to come and pick him to the hotel where he lodged,  he told me to follow  him secretly  behind. They drove in a  Toyota Camry car.   When they arrived the hotel, I hid outside.

“I waited  for my friend to come outside  but he did not and that made me suspicious. I  dialed his number  but there was no response. Not   long thereafter, I saw one white man with blood stain all over his body.  He  wanted to escape but the security guards started  shouting for help. The shouts  alerted other people in the hotel. And that was what made me call our chairman and my  other colleagues that they should help call the police.

“Then, I approached the hotel gate and started hauling stones at the white man and shouting at the same time. In the process, I managed to grab him. When we followed him to the room he lodged in,  I saw my friend in a  pool of  his own  blood . And when the policemen conducted a search  of  the hotel room, they found  two other persons.”

The chairman of  the  bureau-de-change operators association, Mallam Garba Kano, who also spoke with Sunday Vanguard, revealed that Ali was rushed to three hospitals where he was rejected. According to him, “ when I got wind of the report, I  alerted the DPO Apapa who immediately rushed there with his men.  But for him, the suspects would have escaped. We first rushed Ali to  an  hospital where he was rejected.

“We later took him to Apapa health centre where again he was rejected. We took him to one other hospital where  the same thing happened. By then Ali was no longer  talking. He was in coma. We then rushed him to Lagoon  Hospital  where he was accepted and we were asked to pay N2.5 million as deposit. But we were able to deposit  N750,000 before treatment commenced. Unfortunately he died hours later.”

It was not as if Ali  went to meet the Lebanese just like that. His telephone number was given to the Lebanese by someone  the deceased bureau de change  knew very well at a supermarket. Garba  lamented that members of his association had been under  incessant attacks  from criminals who hide under different guise.
In the past, he said gun wielding men would storm the area, shooting  his  members  and making away with their monies in naira and foreign currencies. Sometimes, according to him, robbers would pose as bank customers, asking his members to meet them  at the bank. But on reaching the bank, the operator would be attacked and dispossessed of  his money. Some of  his members,  he said, ended up losing their lives . So far, he said four of his members had lost their lives.

Where is the money?
There  is, however, a twist in the whole matter as the fifty thousand dollars Ali reportedly took to the hotel was, at press time,  yet to be recovered. Out of the amount, only ten thousand dollars was recovered.
Sunday Vanguard gathered that when the prime suspect was arrested, a briefcase in which the hard currency was recovered  was taken from him and handed over to a police man. It could, however, not be ascertained if the briefcase contained the whole amount. But when asked, Bilal allegedly claimed he kept the money inside the briefcase.  This development  led to the arrest of the policeman.
Ali’s widow and three children left for Kano, on Wednesday, with the police still investigating the matter with a view to arresting  fleeing suspects.

Boko Haram Says AIT Phone-In Interview Call Is Fake

You will recall that a purported telephone call made to the African Independent Television (AIT) by a caller pretending to be a Boko Haram threatened to attack Lagos and Abuja in 72 hours. The Islamist militant sect Boko Haram has revealed that a purported telephone call made to the African Independent Television (AIT) by a caller pretending to be a Boko Haram spokesperson was fake.
A source close to the sect told Saharareporters that no one in the sect or any on its leadership initiated a call threatening to attack Lagos and Abuja in 72 hours.A Nigerian local TV station-African Independent Television- had played a phone call in which an individual claiming to be a representative of Boko Haram threatened to attack Lagos and Abuja in 72 hours.
The caller also requested that Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan unconditionally  meet with the sect in Yobe state, without security, to discuss the terms of a ceasefire, but our most reliable source said the call was a prank pulled by individuals capitalizing on the hysteria created by Boko Haram's recent attacks in northern Nigeria. Meet our Demands or We Will Bomb Lagos and Abuja in 72 Hours –Boko Haram

We are swimming in dangerous waters in Nigeria and many of those living and doing business in the nation's Political and Commercial capitals - Abuja and Lagos - are in for some serious trouble as the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram, has threatened to destroy the two cities with bombs in 72 hours.

In a phone call to Africa Independent Television on Friday, they threatened to unleash bomb attacks in Lagos and Abuja unless President Goodluck Jonathan appears on AIT for an open discussion with them.
The phone call was broadcast on the AIT news at 8pm last night. According to someone who watched the news and posted his observations on Nairaland, the sect made some demands and promised to unleashed terror if the Jonathan Government does not comply:

(1)  Goodluck Jonathan should act on the letter written to him by Boko Haram.
(2)  Former Governor of Borno (Ali Modu Sheriff), former Minister of Police Affairs
and some PDP stalwarts in the North should be arrested and tried for terrorism.
(3)  Government should create an open forum for dialogue at Abuja, open to the public.
They said they are ready to come to Abuja for dialogue provided it is an open one.

What do you think the President should do? Should he appear on AIT for open discussion with Boko Haram? Since they gave 72 hours for their demands to be met, what should be the right response from the Presidency to avert loss of lives and property?

Boko Haram: Jonathan's Government Knows The Sponsors

Finally the Goodluck Jonathan administration have known those behind the killings of innocent Nigerians all in the name of political relevance. Olufamou.com gathered that a list comprising of names of the suspected top backers of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram, has been compiled by top security agents.
The nation's security chiefs were said to have worked on an intelligence report highlighting that “some top politicians are financially backing up the Islamic sect so as to de-stabilize the present administration".

Married Abuja Big Girl Caught In Adultery Mess In London

I read this story in a blog and I was touched and decided to share it here with NGB readers. The gist goes thus:
I got a call last week from Mr. Olaitan Iwalewa, a London based Nigerian businessman, who complained bitterly about how the wife of a top government official in Abuja deceived him into believing that she was single, started a relationship with him and spend several nights with him in his London home.

Mr. Iwalewa told Olu Famous Blog that he visited Nigeria to spend time with his woman only to discover that Ajoke Tolani, who is the owner of Bubble Boutique and Accessories in Abuja, is indeed a full-time house wife. He thus stopped the unholy affair. But there is a big problem now; the crux of the matter is what you will read below:From what Olu Famous Blog gathered, a melodrama is currently playing out in the adultery scandal between the wife of a topshot at Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) and Mr. Iwalewa who is bitter after discovering that his beloved woman was actually a wife to another man. Their long rosy and romantic relationship has gone sour and the man seems ready for a showdown.

The woman is denying her “ex-lover”, while the man has everything at his disposal to prove that they were romantically involved in a serious relationship that could have been altar bound if not that he discovered she was married.

Mr. Iwalewa told Olu Famous Blog that they met in London some years ago through a family friend of Tolani and they began a relationship without knowing that Tolani was married as a second wife in Abuja. The relationship, Mr. Iwalewa said had been rosy all through and Tolani who often comes to London to shop for her boutique spends weeks with him at his house in London.

Mr. Iwalewa who before now had misunderstanding with his wife and separated was planning to make Tolani his second wife legally until he got winds last year August that Tolani was a married woman. “It was when I came to Nigeria last year that I got the gist at the hotel she lodged me when one of the staff whom I have been good to told me that the woman that brought me here is married and known by lots of people.

“Immediately I heard that, I was shocked and scared of my life. I had to leave the place and left for London. Since then, she has been begging me because I refused to pick her calls.”

Now, Mr. Iwalewa wants Mrs. Tolani Afolabi to repay all the money he borrowed her which is about 3,000 pounds for her business and another sum of about N800,000 which he gave to her to use to lodge in an account in Nigeria. He said he met only about N100,000 in the account.

While trying to cover her acts, Mrs. Afolabi had told a soft-sell magazine that the man was her pastor and used to pray for her whenever she’s in London. But Mr. Iwalewa said it is a BIG lie. “I am not a Pastor, I don’t know what she meant, she stays in my house in London anytime she’s in town, I will provide you some of the text messages she has been sending to me including the one she sent when I refused to pick her calls after getting to know she is married.”

For several days, Olu Famous Blog tried calling Mrs. Tolani Afolabi to hear her own side of the story from her but it seems the woman has switched off all her three (3) numbers, permanently.

Anyway, below her some romantic SMS she sent to Mr. Iwalewa while their relationship lasted, as published in Global excellence, with her personal numbers:

(1) “Honey Mi, olowo ori me, I will always luv u do have a beautiful day at work. Missing u and feel like wrapping u round my body luv u.”

Shocking! Man Killed While Sleeping With A Lady During Night Vigil

It is widely believe that demons usually have a way of manipulating people and anyone who allows himself or herself to be carried away may not like the consequences. Below is a story making rounds on the internet:
About 2 weeks ago at the Agodi area of Ibadan in Oyo State, there was this incident that rocked the environs about the death one of their neighbours. The tale happened when a Church (name withheld) in the area organized her monthly Vigil.
Among the participants were a young man and a young lady. But rather than join others to pray and praise God, they cunningly sneaked out of the church and settled in a dark corner to "enjoy themselves".
They were busy with their unholy act when two members of the Vigilante Group in the area noticed some unusual sound and moment. So they moved a little bit closer and shout “who is there” but there was no response from the love birds.
As the drama of as asking question without response continued, one of the men got angry and shot directly at the corner. To their surprise, they heard the voice of a man groaning; as they moved closer, they found a man and a woman naked. Sadly the man died at the spot.
I hear the two vigilante members have since been arrested and are currently being detained at the Agodi Police station for murder case.

How Oshiomhole's Principal Secretary Was Assassinated

Olaitan Oyerinde
A popular labour activist and principal secretary to the Governor of Edo State Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, Olaitan Oyerinde, was murdered in cold blood on Friday morning around 1: 00AM by unknown gunmen in Benin city, the capital of Edo state.

Comrade Olaitan was shot to death in front of his wife and children by armed assassins who stormed his official residence in the city. His murder is believed in the security circle to be related with Governor Oshiomhole's upcoming re-election campaign in Edo State.
As an official aide to the governor, he is crucial to the coordination and management of electioneering activities for the governor. Comrade Olaitan, a University of Lagos alumni is well-known and highly respected as an excellent organizer.

It would be recalled that just last week the governor narrowly escaped a mysterious auto accident in the state, a truck rammed into his convoy as he was returning from a campaign rally, killing 3 journalists and injuring several others.

Sex Worker Kills Married Man; Says "I Did It In Self-Defence"

Nkechi Okafor, a commercial sex worker who is standing trial at an Ikeja High Court for stabbing her client, Samuel Sarumi, to death, on Wednesday told Justice Lateefa Okunnu that she killed the man in self-defence.

Led in defence by Mrs A. Onabolu, the defence counsel, Nkechi said Sarumi came to the hotel at midnight on the fateful day to see his girlfriend. According to her, "Samuel came into my room and asked for his girlfriend, but I told him that the girl had gone out, but he refused to leave, wanting to force me into having sex with him, but I declined.
"He held me by the neck and almost choked me and when I was able to escape his grip, I ran into my room and I broke a bottle to scare him away as he had followed me into my room."He, however, refused to leave and I was forced to stab him and he ran out immediately and he later brought in some hoodlums into the room and they beat me up.”

Okafor said she sustained injuries on her mouth, back and face following the attack, explaining that she did not know that Sarumi died until her arrest by the police the next day, saying “I was in Panti Police Station for over a month before I was taken into prison custody.”

She described Sarumi as a jovial and generous man who treated her well anytime he visited his girlfriend, Ivie. “Before I was arrested, Samuel’s mother visited me and accused me of being a murderer and that I too must be killed,” Nkechi added.

Principal State Counsel Osunmola Balogun had alleged that the defendant stabbed Sarumi with a broken bottle on his shoulder and near his armpit, resulting in his death.

Not wanting to leave out any useful details that could help unravel the truth of what actually happened, Justice Okunnu adjourned the matter to June 28 for further hearing.

Akwa Ibom Church Pastor Arrested For Armed Robbery

41 year old Pastor Eze who is said to double as the ring leader of a deadly gang of armed robbers has been nabbed. Pastor and General Overseer of a ministry in Eket, Akwa-Ibom, Pastor Eze was arrested by the operatives of Ondo State Police Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad(SARS) who trailed him to Eket, Akwa-Ibom after being exposed by members of his gang.

The deadly four-man gang that specialized in snatching of high profile cars and Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) according to police sources had been terrorizing residents of Akure, Ondo State capital and Ilesha in Osun State before they met their waterloo.
The pastor popularly known as Chairman was said to be the sole receiver of the cars snatched from innocent people and disposed them off in Akwa-Ibom. It was gathered that whenever Pastor Eze and his gang went for operation he would stay in an hotel while the four gang members would be carrying out their nefarious activities of snatching cars on the road. When the car has been snatched it would be taken to the Pastor in the hotel. The Pastor would drive the stolen car to Akwa Ibom where it would be sold. One of such stolen vehicle was said to have been sold for N2.5million On March 6, 2012, when Pastor Eze and his gang stormed Akure. He lodged in an hotel as usual and his gang members double-crossed a woman, one Mrs Olubunmi who was driving an SUV along FUTA Road and snatched her car.

The car was taken away and when information got to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), it swung into action and got one of the gang members arrested in Akure. Speaking with our reporter, Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Police Command, Mr Edgar Nanakumu said the command has been facing a serious problem of combating car snatchers within the state. “We have received several complaints of car snatching and immediately the information came to us about this latest one.

I quickly mobilized men of SARS and they swung into action and arrested one of the gang members and he confessed that one Pastor Eze who was their gang leader always sold the snatched cars at Akwa Ibom State.” Nanakumu explained that the policemen had to travel to Eket in Akwa Ibom State and arrested the said Pastor who happened to be the General Overseer (GO) of a church which has a large congregation in Akwa Ibom.

He was arrested with charms, ritual rings and Bible in his house. Pastor Eze, according to the Ondo CP confessed right in Akwa Ibom that he is the leader of the gang of armed robbers and the receiver of snatched cars and that he used to sell them at Akwa Ibom State. CP Nanakumu said that the policemen arrested the four members of the robbery gang and that they confessed their operations in several states. Some of the victims are said to have visited the police headquarters to identify their snatched cars and most of them have confirmed that the recovered cars were theirs.

One of the victims, one Mr Sola told our reporter that “It was a bitter experience when he was robbed and the hoodlums snatched his car. He said he had to report the matter at the Police Command. The police did their best, they couldn’t succeed. It was when I heard the information that the police have been able to arrest some suspects that I came to check if they were those that snatched my car and I was able to identify one of the suspects. I am highly impressed by the police effort,” he said.
Another victim, one Mrs Olubunmi said: “I was greeting my friend when suddenly four armed men double crossed me with their Honda Accord Car and succeeded in taking my car away. I quickly went to report the incident at the police station. The police tried their best as they swung into action but the robbers escaped. I was impressed when the story got to me that the Police have arrested some of the suspects in Akure. I was able to identify two of the suspects,” she said.

Pastor Eze, the suspected ringleader, in his confession said: “I have a ring which the police recovered from me. I used the ring for power to bail out people from their problems. When a woman is not pregnant and I touched her with the ring, she would get pregnant.
The pastor said sometimes he "used to deceive some of them and sleep with the women who came to church for counselling".
CP Nanakumu said the command has been able to arrest the four suspects. He said that the command is still investigating the matter and that when it is concluded the suspects would be charged to court.

Suspected Boko Haram bomb supplier arrested

Men of the State Security Service (SSS), Kano State command yesterday paraded a middle-aged man, Ayuba Usman, who was arrested for alleged possession of over 35 drums of highly inflammable chemicals suspected to be used in making improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other locally manufactured bombs.
The highly combustible chemicals along with other explosive substances were seized from the suspect following an intensive investigation by security agents that led to his arrest in Kano metropolis.
The state’s SSS director, Mr. Bassey Eteng said the suspect was arrested in an undisclosed market on Tuesday, following a tip-off by some concerned members of the community.
He added that the suspect was found through investigations to have close links with some extremist elements. “We have been following this situation very judiciously and painstakingly to be able to arrive at what is happening,” he added.
Bassey said that security had been beefed up in their effort to hunt down terrorists in the state by trailing their activities and movements in order to make the state safe for all.
He said based on statements made by high-profile suspects “we were able to know that the suspect, Ayuba Usman, has been providing chemicals to the extremist groups which they have been using to make explosive devices”.
