(Car Porn) The NOVITEC ROSSO designer suit for the Ferrari 458 Spider

Carbon aero kit, superlight forged wheels, 609 hp and 325 km/h

Haute Couture at the highest performance level: NOVITEC ROSSO not only tailors a thrilling designer suit made from lightweight clear-coated carbon fiber for the Ferrari 458 Spider. Superlight forged wheels in a unique staggered 21- and 22-inch combination together with a sophisticated suspension system featuring hydraulic ride-height adjustment make the drop-top sports car even more dynamic. In addition, there is a power increase to 609 hp / 448 kW and an equally lightweight high-performance exhaust system with sound management by means of a butterfly valve. Further custom details such as black lamps or interiors custom-tailored to the owner's individual preferences substantiate NOVITEC ROSSO's leading global position in tuning and refining the sports cars from Maranello.

Carbon fiber is not only the top choice in Formula 1 racing, but also for the NOVITEC ROSSO aerodynamic-enhancement components for the Ferrari 458 Spider. The designers concentrated not merely on striking looks, but first and foremost on aerodynamic efficiency, which was fine-tuned in the wind tunnel of the University of Stuttgart.

The standard front fascia is upgraded with a two-piece front spoiler and side flaps for further reduced lift at high speeds. To round out the carbon-fiber look the wings in the air scoops and the ventilation grilles in the front fenders are also manufactured from this material. Tasteful carbon-fiber covers on the exterior mirrors complete the ensemble.

NOVITEC ROSSO carbon-fiber sill skirts can give the two-seater an even more sporty side appearance.

Also made from this high-tech material are the NOVITEC ROSSO diffuser and the bezel surrounding the rear fog lamp. To generate even more downforce on the rear axle the Spider can be upgraded either with a tasteful rear spoiler lip or a rear wing - both made from carbon fiber as well.

Further NOVITEC ROSSO styling features are black taillights, which are also emphasized visually with carbon-fiber bezels, black side markers and the black auxiliary LED brake light.

The new NOVITEC ROSSO NF4 forged wheels perfectly combine visual assets with increased driving dynamics thanks to reduced unsprung weight. To give the Ferrari even more of a wedge-shaped appearance a staggered tire/wheel combination with diameters of 21 and 22 inches was developed.
Despite their king-sized dimensions - 9Jx21 in front and 12Jx22 on the rear axle - these wheels with five delicate double spokes weigh just 9.9 and 13.5 kilograms. This makes the NOVITEC ROSSO wheels some of the lightest of their type in these sizes. Technology partner Pirelli supplies PZero high-performance tires in sizes 255/30 ZR 21 and 335/25 ZR 22. The popular three-piece NOVITEC ROSSO NF3 wheels with diameters of 20, 21 and 22 inches will continue to be available as an option.

Another NOVITEC ROSSO high-tech development is the hydraulic suspension system for the 458 Spider. At the push of a button in the cockpit the front of the car can be raised by 40 millimeters to navigate safely past curbs or to enter an underground parking garage. At a second push of the button or automatically upon reaching a speed of 80 km/h the front reverts to its original position. In addition, NOVITEC ROSSO sport springs lower the ride height of the Spider by some 35 millimeters. It goes without saying that the standard damper adjustment of the 458 Spider is retained fully.

NOVITEC ROSSO sport sway bars are available to further minimize body roll in fast corners and to improve turn-in.

This makes the 458 Spider perfectly suited for an extra helping of power. The most powerful version to date is the NOVITEC ROSSO Performance Level 1. In this case the 4.5-liter V8 is fitted with a special carbon-fiber air box with modified air routing and a NOVITEC ROSSO high-performance exhaust system. The exhaust system, manufactured from INCONEL, a highly stress-proof yet extremely lightweight material also used on exhausts for Formula 1 engines, consists of two high-performance manifolds, sport catalysts and a rear muffler. The latter is optionally available with a butterfly valve for changing the exhaust note with the Manettino on the steering wheel. The sport exhaust plays not only a crucial role in the increase in power by 39 hp / 28.7 kW, it also weighs 21 kilograms less than the production exhaust.

In order to perfectly coordinate the interaction of all high-performance components the engine conversion also comprises newly programmed engine electronics with custom mapping for ignition and injection.

After the conversion the engine produces a peak power of 609 hp / 448 kW at 9,100 rpm and a peak torque of 569 Nm at 5,400 rpm. Even more important for day-to-day driving situations are the even more aggressive throttle response and the moderately higher redline speed for further improved shift points. The Ferrari 458 Spider with NOVITEC ROSSO engine tuning reaches a top speed in excess of 325 km/h.

NOVITEC ROSSO goes beyond simply offering more power. The engine design itself is of an extremely sporty character with clear-coated carbon-fiber covers that turn the engine compartment into a feast for the eyes as well.

NOVITEC ROSSO also adds some outright racing highlights in the interior with tasteful carbon-fiber touches such as the center console that has been extended downward, the bezels above the speedometer and the climate sensor as well as with shift paddles that are longer than their production counterparts. Naturally there are also exclusive NOVITEC ROSSO all-leather interiors in any color imaginable.

(Cars/video) Carroll Shelby's "Shelby 1000...Yeesh...

NEW YORK – April 5, 2012 – On the eve of its return to the New York International Auto Show, 50 years after the company made its debut, Shelby American, Inc., a division of Carroll Shelby International (CSBI.PK), unveiled the world's most powerful series of muscle cars. Named the Shelby 1000, the 50-state, street-legal car is the high performance dream of founder Carroll Shelby. The Shelby American team enhanced the power, braking and handling of the 2012 Ford Shelby GT500 to create a hyper-performance muscle car available in both street and competition versions.

"We launched Shelby American with the Cobra at the 1962 New York Auto Show," said Carroll Shelby. "The 289 Cobra was considered pretty radical at the time. For our return 50 years later, I wanted something just as incredible that will show how far we've come and where we're headed for the next 50 years."

The Shelby 1000 was born in Carroll Shelby's imagination in 2011. Having just achieved 800 horsepower with the famed Shelby GT500 Super Snake, he and his band of modern day hot rodders at Shelby American believed that they could enhance Ford's well-engineered car even more.

"Carroll modeled the Shelby 1000 on the same philosophy as he did in the '60s, using a balance of horsepower and handling," added John Luft, president of Shelby American. "Carroll was actively involved in every aspect of the Shelby 1000's development, from the design to the testing and ultimately his final approval. Once again, Shelby American is making history and rewriting the rules for performance."

The Shelby1000 will be offered in both street and Shelby 1000 S/C "off-road" track versions. The street legal, pump gas version dyno's out at approximately 950 HP, while the track oriented "S/C" version is rated at over 1,100 HP.

"We didn't simply turn up the boost to get this level of horsepower," explained Gil Navarrez, Shelby American's Speed Shop director. "We took the serious hot rod approach by taking Ford's 5.4 liter engine down to the block, and beefed up the internals by machining it for new rods, crank and pistons. We also flowed the heads, revamped the cooling and improved the exhaust. With a choice of a Kenne- Bell 3.6 liter or the new Whipple 4.0 liter supercharger and tune, it will crank out serious power all day long."

Shelby's enhancements didn't stop at the engine. The Shelby American team worked closely with engineering partners like Ford Racing, Borla, Tremec and Kenne Bell to create the ultimate, handcrafted muscle car.

"This car is the total package," noted Gary Patterson, vice president of operations. "It was conceived as the ultimate Shelby and honed during substantial testing. It's the most powerful Shelby based on a Ford Mustang that has ever been built at Shelby American."

The rear end was replaced with a high performance 9-inch unit; the brakes include 6 pistons in front and 4 pistons out back. The driveshaft is a stronger unit while the suspension includes new struts, sway bars and bushings. The hood, rear panel and splitter are functional pieces for performance.

"We did focus groups with Shelby customers, and even showed them our initial styling designs," explained Vice President of Production Gary Davis. "They overwhelmingly asked for this stealth exterior approach. Something cast in the mold of the most serious muscle cars of the '60s. Everything was engineered and designed with a 'form follows function' philosophy."

The result is a Shelby with subtle, yet substantial changes. From the interior touches to the hood, wheels and aerodynamic styling, the car is stripped to its bare essence. In keeping with its 50th anniversary theme, a limited production of 100 Shelby 1000s will be built. Each will be numbered and documented for the Shelby registry.

The post-title package for the Shelby1000 starts at $149,995 and the track S/C version starts at $154,995, not including the base GT500. A completed Shelby 1000 is expected to be approximately $200,000.

Shelby American is now accepting orders for the limited edition Shelby 1000. Those interested in reserving a car should contact the Shelby American Sales team at (702) 942-7325 or visit www.shelbyamerican.com.

(Cars) So apparently Allen Iverson's Bugatti has been seen...

I don't feel bad for taking their photo. They are credited and well...lets just say they've been HERE BEFORE TOO. @ THE SITE

You know, sometimes, I want to act like some of you are as smart as you claim to be. Then you do shit like type in 'Does Allen Iverson have a Bugatti even though he is 'broke'' into your Google (whatever search engine you use) search to see and it fucks all of that up. Ya'll act like:

A. Bugatti JUST STARTED MAKING CARS... (Just because your favorite rapper introduced to the car maker doesn't mean they just 'came into existence'..

B. He really was 'broke' in the first place..Sounds like you wanted him to be broke to me.. @ all the questioning. http://thewarehous.blogspot.com/2012/03/report-allen-iverson-is-not-broke.html

C. His 'broke' is your kind of broke. There's a difference.. Trust me.

D. The man doesn't own OTHER LUXURY CARS BESIDES THE BUGATTI IN QUESTION. (Who in Philly remembers that BEAUTIFUL BENTLEY (Blue) that he used to roll around the Tri-State area in or the GT that he bought on his birthday in '07?)

Here he was in Atlanta in September.... of last year... two Lambos..

In January in the ANOTHER LAMBO..

You get the picture? I'm a lit tired of ya'll out here not putting things into 'perspective' for one and for two, believing EVERY THING NEGATIVE you read about someone. lol Ya'll are gonna get enough though I suppose. Let that man live. Shit.
